Mike Hewitt Co-founder of DARKHORSE has left the corporate world behind to focus on living a lifelong dream of owning his own business. The opportunity came to fruition over a number of flat whites and long blacks with co-founder Liam Taylor in November 2012.
They saw a gap in the market for a multilayered front foot, innovative, creative and high energy approach to engage brands with target audiences through meaningful and relevant campaigns. They also want to showcase what the best country in the world has to offer by creating unique money can’t buy experiences targeting both inbound and local corporates and individuals.
Mike was a graduate of Wellington College and studied Tourism Management at Victoria University in Wellington before making the shift to Auckland and embarking on his entrepreneurial journey.
Having gained a noteworthy apprenticeship which has included working for iconic NZ and Australian start-up companies Charlie’s Juice and Nutrient Water, then some of the world’s most sought after brands which has included Red Bull, Moet & Chandon, Veuve Clicquot, Dom Perignon the list goes on…..
Mike’s vast background working for these brands has covered everything from building a company and running it from scratch through to executing global initiatives across multiple aspects of a business which have included multi-million dollar national sales programs, creating money can’t buy brand experiences to fostering key relationships across multiple levels within an organisation.
Mikes relationship-centered approach doubled with a ‘Nothing is Impossible’ mindset fuel him to get out of bed in the morning and make a difference in some shape or form making everyday worthy of a standing ovation.
